The Burkhalter Group optimizes project work with Seamless for Office 365
Increasing digitization is also changing collaboration in projects at Burkhalter. Specialists from various disciplines, both inside and outside the company, quickly and easily join together to form project teams across all locations. They solve challenging questions in different areas of electrical engineering. Therefore, the Burkhalter Group wanted to introduce a central project tool and thus facilitate project work. The implementation of the solution was entrusted to AskMeWhy.
Central requirements were:
• Multi-client capability
• Google-like search for projects and content
• Version history of documents as well as offline availability and mobile access
• Integration of the existing industry solution Canoo Volta and the ERP system
• good performance and ease of use
The Burkhalter Group processes around 8,000 offers, customer and service projects each year. Therefore, we developed a version adapted to these existing processes based on our project solution Seamless. Above all, the multi-client capability and the interaction with the existing electrical industry solution Canoo Volta as a leading system were decisive. Therefore, we have developed a connector that covers the administration of project rooms and data storage during the entire project cycle. Additionally, administration of master and address data as well as changes in project management were realized in the same way. As a result, the seamless project pages always have up-to-date project information and access authorizations, which are maintained by the respective project manager. In addition, real-time project key figures are displayed in the project room via a web service interface.
With Seamless for Office 365, the Burkhalter Group now has a central project platform. It offers all tools for content-related project work and integrates project information, documents and key figures from the existing industry solution Canoo Volta and the ERP system Soreco Webkit. In addition, new project rooms can be created via self-service in just a few moments, and employees can focus on content-related work immediately. The project pages are the single-point-of-entry into project work and offer modern tools and standardized processes. Whether in the office or on the road, project teams can get an overview of the project status or edit documents at any time. Thanks to the easier cooperation, Burkhalter’s project teams are now even more efficient at implementing their projects, which ultimately translates into time and cost savings.
